‼️ Cluster Security Updates

To increase cluster security given the rise in tainted packages and kernel exploits, and the popularity of AI agents, we are enacting the following measures:

  • Files created in group directories are now created without group write by default. To add group write to a directory, the directory owner can manually run chmod -R g+w <directory>
  • The uv/latest module now sets UV_EXCLUDE_NEWER="1 week"
  • All user-facing nodes will reboot during every monthly maintenance period as we aggressively apply updates.
